ABOUT Mulika Tanzania

Mulika Tanzania is a youth-led organization that strives to put young people at the center of development and decision-making processes. Mulika was formed and registered in 2015 with the aim of making the youth part of the decision-making process. Mulika was registered as an NGO in 15th July 2015 and later formally began work in 2017.  Following the amended NGO act of 2002, the organization registered afresh on 18th July 2019. Mulika Tanzania is an active member of the United Nations Major Group for Children and Youth (UNMGCY) and also a member of the African Youth Adolescents Network on Population and Development (AfriYAN ESA) through AfriYAN Tanzania Chapter.

Hussein Melele

Founder & Executive Director

Hussein Melele is a senior youth development and SRHR strategist with over a decade of experience leading high-impact programs, partnerships, and policy initiatives across Tanzania and Sub-Saharan Africa. His work advances gender equality, youth participation, and governance through scalable, data-driven, youth-centered approaches delivered in collaboration with governments, UN agencies, and civil society. As Founder and Executive Director of Mulika Tanzania, he leads national program on SRHR, digital innovation, and youth leadership, while mobilizing resources, driving partnerships, and delivering measurable results in advocacy, economic empowerment, and community engagement. He previously served as Vice President of AfriYAN Eastern and Southern Africa, providing regional leadership across 15+ countries and strengthening coordination, advocacy, and policy influence at continental level. He brings experience in program leadership, stakeholder mobilization, communications, and policy, supported by a strong regional network and youth-centered development focus. Winfrida Mponzi

Programs Lead

Winfrida Mponzi has experience in program management within the development sector and civil society organizations, with a strong focus on designing and coordinating community-based initiatives. She brings expertise in planning, implementing, and overseeing development programs that address youth empowerment and community development priorities. At Mulika Tanzania, she contributes to the coordination and implementation of programs across the organization’s areas of intervention, ensuring structured delivery of activities and alignment with intended outcomes. Her work focuses on program planning, stakeholder coordination, and strengthening the execution of initiatives that advance community impact and development objectives. Latifa Mpingo

Finance & Administration Lead

Latifa Mpingo has experience in finance and administration, with a strong background in accounts management and organizational financial processes. She brings practical expertise in financial record-keeping, budgeting, and administrative coordination within institutional settings. At Mulika Tanzania, she contributes to the management of financial and administrative systems that support program implementation and day-to-day operations. Her work focuses on maintaining accurate financial documentation, supporting reporting processes, and ensuring proper administrative procedures that uphold accountability and organizational efficiency. Wilbgeorge Bahati

Communication & Advocacy  Lead

​Wilbgeorge Bahati possesses extensive experience in media, communication design, and advocacy messaging, with a strong background in graphic design, photography, and video production. He applies creative and strategic approaches to developing communication materials that combine visual design, storytelling, and advocacy to strengthen public understanding of development programs. Within Mulika Tanzania, he contributes to the development and execution of communication and advocacy strategies across the organization’s areas of intervention. His work encompasses the production of communication content for campaigns and events, the management of digital communication platforms, and the design and development of visual and narrative materials that enhance program visibility. He also documents field activities, events, and success stories, translating them into communication outputs that reflect program impact. He draws on audience insights and communication data to refine messaging, enhance reach, and strengthen overall communication effectiveness across platforms. Iddi .S. Iddi

Operation & Administration Lead

Iddi S. Iddi works within operations and administration in development-focused institutions, bringing hands-on experience in managing organizational systems, internal coordination, and day-to-day operational processes. His background covers administrative management, financial documentation support, and ensuring that institutional procedures run in an organized and efficient manner. Within Mulika Tanzania, he contributes to the smooth running of operational and administrative functions that support program delivery and organizational continuity. She brings practical expertise in communication strategy development, digital platform management, and content production that blends storytelling, advocacy messaging, and visual communication. Paul Bikomagu

Program Associate

Paul Bikomagu currently serving as the Program associate at Mulika Tanzania, bringing practical exposure to supporting the design and implementation of development initiatives within civil society settings. He is engaged in coordinating program activities, organizing implementation processes, and contributing to documentation and reporting that reflect project progress and outcomes. At Mulika Tanzania, he works within the programs team to support the execution of initiatives across the organization’s areas of intervention, ensuring activities are well-coordinated and properly documented.
